Fancy a day out on the water? Then catch the ferry for a brilliant day trip to the Isle of Arran or Millport!
Often referred to as Scotland in miniature, Arran boasts unspoiled beaches, rugged mountains and incredible scenery. Take a regular ferry from Ardrossan harbor to Brodick where you'll find great places to eat and drink. Tourist attractions include Brodick Castle and Country Park; the Lochranza distillery and the islands highest peak, Goatfell.
The island of Cumbrae is a short ferry ride from the seaside town of Largs and has long been a favorite holiday destination for generations of Scots. Millport, the island's main town, has lots of attractions, including summer fair grounds and plenty of places to eat and drink. The most popular activity on the island is cycling and there's lots of places to hire standard or adapted bikes to explore the cycle route which runs for 10 miles right around the island!
